Welcome to my link blog.

Linking is voting, we used to say. Everything you linked to was a vote for the sort of web you envisioned.

Social media hates linking out – it takes your readers off their site. This is very short-term thinking, but corporate types have trouble thinking past this quarter’s numbers anyway.

If you link out, they will either throttle your reach, making sure literally nobody sees it.

The other thing they hate is you fully expressing yourself. I’m sure you have seen the social media shorthand folks use to get around algorithms: Unalived, graped, yte folks. I totally get why they do it – if you don’t, nobody sees your stuff.

But I already don’t like being there – it’s like they are trying to push me out the door.

So I started this blog. I want a place to be able to share things with out fear of someone deciding I have crossed a line, or offended someone, or that what I wrote doesn’t deserve to be seen.
